FAQ

  • Where are you based?
We work from the clinic at Chester Wellness Centre, Wrexham road, Chester CH49DE.
  • Is there parking?
Yes. There is a dedicated car park for clients to use.
  • I'm not sure what help I need. Can I still make an appointment?
Absolutely! We differ from traditional therapies/counselling. Louise is a qualified nurse therapist and can offer a range of support for you and your family with regards to mental health problems.
  • Can I make an appointment online?
Yes! Please go to the book online page. We recognise that people have very busy lives, and so please get in touch if the appointment time/date isn't available as we always try and work around you.
  • What can I expect from the initial consultation?
The initial consultation will be a thorough assessment of your mental health. This will include exploring past psychiatric history, current presentation as well as many other issues that may impact. This then gives us a clear view of what plan to follow to get you on the road to recovery.
  • I have anxiety that I am sure is linked to a past trauma. But, I don't want to go in to detail about the traumatic event. Are you still able to help?
The short answer is YES. We often experience mental health problems as a result of trauma. This doesn't mean that to manage the mental health problem, the trauma needs to be explored in detail if you're not ready. There are many options to support you, and that is why the initial consultation is so crucial.
  • I don't want 'talking therapy', but need some achievable goals to improve my mental health. Is this possible?
Yes it is! Not all of us are suitable for talking therapies, and we may need some practical advice in order to to take those steps towards recovery. In this instance, we at Cheshire Mental Health Practice can help. Louise has over 20 years experience in the field and is sensitive to what the client is comfortable with.
  • My 15 year old needs some psychological and practical support. Can you help?
Following a full assessment at the initial consultation, we can collaboratively come up with a plan. This may be working through some short term psychological interventions, or it may require some collaborative family approaches. We're here to help and work with you as a family if this is what is needed.
  • Are you able to help me with my ADHD symptoms?
Absolutely! Helping someone with ADHD is like helping them unwrap a gift. We work with a ‘strength based model’ approach. This means, your potential is fully unravelled.
  • I think I have ADHD, can you help?
As an adult, with suspected ADHD, we would expect you to be experiencing some negative impact on your mental health. Our support models are aimed at strengthening the individual’s mental health structure. We do not diagnose ADHD, but offer psychological support, coaching and other resources.
  • What is an FAQ section?
An FAQ section can be used to quickly answer common questions about you or your business, such as “Where do you ship to?”, “What are your opening hours?” or “How can I book a service?” It’s a great way to help people navigate your site and can even boost your site’s SEO.
